It was created in 1979 by an idea of Ugo and Vittorio Contini Bonacossi. They wanted to produce in Carmignano a wine that followed the French tradition of Bordeaux. “Ghiaie della Furba” is a blend composed by Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. A powerful red, intense and elegant. Its wine making is managed in steel, while the aging is developed in French oak barriques for 2 years. “Toscana Rossi IGT Ghiaie della Furba” has a great longevity. The blend is composed by 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 25% Syrah grapes, cultivated in the area of Carmignano, in the district of Prato. The harvest is planned, for Merlot and Syrah, in the middle of September, while Cabernet is harvested in the middle of October.7 days fermentation in steel followed by 13 days maceration in contact with the peels at 26°C
