Wine list | Rosso di Montalcino |
Rosso di Montalcino DOC, by Capanna winery, is a great Italian red wine. It’s made from 100% Sangiovese grapes. Bunches are harvested, selected and must is fermented together with the pomace in stainless steel vessels at a controlled temperature for 18-20 days. Refinement takes place in small Slavonia and Allier oak barrels for 12 months, than the wine is bottled. During the bottling time, refinement process goes on for 3 months in cellar.
Characteristics of Rosso di Montalcino
It presents an intense ruby red colour. On the nose it releases a very elegant and intense bouquet with currant notes. Full-bodied and in taste, with a lightly amount of tannins. It should be served in a wide transparent crystal glass at a temperature of 16-18°C. We suggest to uncork the bottle one hour before serving to enhance its qualities.
Recommended pairings while tasting this red wine from Tuscany
It can be perfectly paired with main courses with meat sauce, charcuterie, fresh or middle-aged chees white and red meat. It can be kept for many years, if properly conserved: the bottle must be set down in a cool and dark place.
