This sensational red wine is produced with 100% Montepulciano grapes. It is perfect for both informal and prestigious occasions, tanks to its quality and the attention that Umani Ronchi puts in its wine-making. The vineyards are located in Abruzzo, mainly around the districts of Chieti and Teramo. The grapes are trained with Tendone method; it is the most diffused in the region, because it guarantees a great production. Moreover, if it is managed properly, it is able to express a great quality. The manual harvest is planned between the end of September and the first decade of October. The wine making consists in 10 days maceration in steel tanks, followed by alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. The aging is developed in steel for 4 months and continues in the bottle for a while before the selling.
Features of the "Podere" DOC wine
The organoleptic exam shows a ruby red colour with violet shades. Its perfume opens with delicate hints of plum and dark cherry, while the taste is structured and full-bodied, with soft tannins and a soft and savoury final.
