The Meroi winery which was founded in 1920 in the Buttrio hamlet in the Udine province on the east hills of Friuli on marl soils located at 140 meters above the sea level and the cultivation method used is the French Guyot method. The exposition of the soils is south, south-east and the denomination is Vigna Dominin Merlot DOC. The Merlot grapes used at 100% to produce this wine are picked in the first weeks of September and the natural fermentation takes place in wood where also the maceration process starts and then the must is poured in barrels for the alcoholic fermentation under temperature control for 15-20 days. The long period of refinement lasts 36 months and the first 24 in wooden barrels and the remaining 12 in bottle without the filtering process.

It has a dark and deep red color. It has dark berries aromas together with cinnamon hints. The taste is wide with important tannins and an evolution potential. It must be served at 16-18°C.
