Wine description
The Valtellina Superiore DOCG Grumello is produced by the Plozza winery and it is made by nebbiolo grapes cultivated on the Grumello hills in the Valtellina area. The Red Edition version can be aged for 10 years. It needs a long aging period in oak barrels according to an old tradition. The traditional Grumello must rest in oak tanks for 4-6 months. This nebbiolo wine making process give birth to a balanced wine for its fruity and woody aromas.
Characteristics of the Valtellina Superiore DOCG Grumello “red edition”
It has a bright ruby red color, characteristic of the Nebbiolo grapes. The smells has a rich bouquet and the taste is unique with a very long persistence.
