Grignolino d’ Asti DOC by Montalbera is a red wine that represents tradition. It is produced with 100% Grignolino grapes, cultivated in the in the area of Castagnole Monferrato and Montemagno, in the heart of Piedmont. The plants are trained with Guyot method. The traditional red wine making is followed by the aging, that is developed in steel containers. Then, the wine continues its maturation in the bottle, where it rests horizontally at controlled temperature. Grignolino is an historical vine variety. It was born in the area that includes the hills between Asti and Casale. The result is a wine rich of personality, that is fresh, dry and strong at the same time. Grignolino D’ Asti “Grigné” is a product that coes on perfectly with the traditional kitchen of Piedmont.
Features of this red wine of Piedmont
Light ruby red colour that tends to orange after the first 12 months in the bottle. Its perfume is wide, floral, delicate, with typical hints of dark cherry, undergrowth and oriental spices. The taste is dry, harmonious, warm and pleasant, with a final that recalls bitterness.
