Gavi del Comune di Gavi DOCG by Pico Maccario tells the an ancient story, where the nobles appreciated the elegance of the wines obtained by Cortese grapes. The wine makers of the cellar are able to express the qualities of this vine variety in a fabulous way, helped by modern techniques. The lands are located in Mombaruzzo, in the district of Asti, where the gentle hills of Piedmont meet the first mountains of Liguria. The lands here are characterized by marls and minerals that give to the wines their typical complexity and aromatic power. The wind coming from the Mediterranean see, the great thermal excursion and the temperate climate, contribute to the excellent quality of the grapes. The product is completed by the wine-makers in the cellar, who work hard to respect and exalt the typical organoleptic features of the vine variety. Immediately separated from the skins, the juice is fermented and aged in steel tanks. The result is a fragrant, intense and harmonious wine. 100% Cortese grapes cultivated in the DOCG area of Gavi.
