A wine from the Donnafugata winery that is innovative and at the same time tells the tradition of the territory. The denomination is that of Etna Rosso DOC, of the Contrada Montelaguardia. The vine used for the vinification is that of Nerello Mascalese. The production area for this sensational wine, falls in Eastern Sicily, on the northern side of Etna. The harvest already includes in the vineyard a careful selection of grapes, followed by manual harvesting in wooden boxes. The vinification is started with the fermentation in steel with maceration on the skins for 10-12 days at a temperature of 25ºC. It follows the careful aging for 14 months in French oak of barrique at the second and third passage; then at least 10 months in bottle before being marketed.

Suggested pairings tasting this Etna Rosso by Donnafugata winery
A red wine that goes perfectly with legumes, mushrooms and tasty meats. Try it with turkey or barbecue ribs; among the dishes of Asian cuisine, it goes very well with Peking duck and beef and pork stews. The serving temperature is 18ºC in a wide glass and allows the wine to be well oxygenated.
