Wine list | Brunello di Montalcino |
This Brunello di Montalcino Riserva "Poggio Abate" from La Poderina Winery is produced exclusively with Sangiovese grosso grapes according to the tradition. Immediately after the manual harvest, the grapes undergo fermentation and subsequent maceration in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 24-28°C: pumping over and delestage are carried out daily. After the alcoholic fermentation a post-fermentation maceration at 29°C takes places. When there is still a good presence of fine lees, it is transferred to oak barrels where the malolactic fermentation with batonnage will take place for at least 5 months. At the end of this period, the wine will continue to refine for 19 months.
Characteristics of this Tuscan wine
Upon organoleptic examination this Tuscan wine shows an intense garnet red color with hints of red fruits, vanilla and spice. On the palate the tannins are well balanced and there is a good persistence.
Suggested food pairings while tasting this red wine
This Tuscan red wine goes perfectly with meat dishes typical of the Tuscan tradition, but also with aged cheeses. To be served at a temperature of 16-18°C in a large enough glass to favor oxygenation.
