The Col D’Orcia presents this sensational Brunello di Montalcino DOCG which comes from the Montalcino area in the Siena province. The vineyards are cultivated in the Sant’Angelo hill and their exposition is South-east which give to the vineyard a complete day of sun. The cultivation are located at 300 meters above the sea level and the grapes are clones of the Sangiovese. The picking is manual and the careful selection is made both on the tree and on the table. The profit is lower than normal and corresponds to 80q/ha. The wine making process starts with the fermentation on peels for 18-20 days where the must is kept at 28°C in steel tanks of 150hl to easily extract the tannins. The aging period is 4 years divided in 3 years in Allier and Slavonia oak barrels of 25-50 and 75 hl and the final year in bottle under temperature control.
