Overlooking Serralunga Castle in Monforte d'Alba, Pressenda is an enchanting vineyard from which this Barolo della Cantina Marziano Abbona takes its name. After the harvest, we proceed with destemming and pressing, followed by film maceration for 24 hours and spontaneous alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts, in contact with the skins and in steel. A submerged cap maceration is then carried out for 70 days, then decanted into 25 hectolitre barrels for 9 months of aging and then decanted into 50 hectolitre barrels for another 18 months. The long refinement phase ends with a further rest of twelve months before marketing.
Characteristics of this Piedmont wine
Elegant and intense, with a ruby red color. Balsamic, undergrowth and berry notes dominate the olfactory profile. Enveloping and decisive tannin on the palate.
