Wine description

The Barolo Castelletto DOCG is the red wine most famous of the piedmont tradition. It is produced by the company Giovanni Manzone which is located in Monforte D’Alba in the Langhe. The great territory, the good altitude and the slope of the vineyards contributes to the production of the greatest quality wines. The grapes are 100% Nebbiolo coming from the cru of Castelletto, and they are picked at the first ten days of October. The wine making on peels is for about 15 days, follows 24 months of refinement in barrels of 35 hectolitre the it is bottle 36 months after the grape harvest.

 

The characteristics of this Barolo wine

Esthetically it has a ruby red color with some violet reflections. The scent is intense with some raspberry, mixed berries jam and tobacco flavors. The taste is pleasant and warm in a perfect balance between tannins and sapid.

 

Suggested matches while tasting this red wine from piedmont

It has to be served in wide wine glasses at 18-20°C. It is perfect to be drunk with rich second courses with game and aged cheese.
