Wine description
Barbera Superiore DOC "La Mattea" is a red wine of Piedmont of the Winery Azienda Agricola Grimaldi. The grapes that produce this wine are 100% Barbera, harvested by hand in vineyards located in Diano D‘Alba and Roddi. The vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature for about 16 days, followed by 6-8 months of aging in stainless steel and 3 months in bottle.
Characteristics of Barbera d'Alba DOC
Its color is ruby red with violet hues at a young age and garnet with aging. The aroma is intense and delicate. The palate is full-bodied, dry, with strong acidity.
Recommended pairings while tasting this wine from Piedmont
Serve in large glasses at a temperature of 16-18°C. Goes well with cold cuts, pasta dishes, meat and old cheeses.
