The Rosso di Montalcino DOC Selezione Iacopo of the Cantina Il Marroneto comes from 100% Sangiovese grapes grown on soils of sea sand mixed with minerals, located at an altitude of 400 m above sea level. After the manual harvest, the bunches are subjected to vinification in 40 hl wooden vats, where 3 pumping overs are carried out in the first 4-5 days: with the slowing down of the fermentation, the pumping overs therefore begin to decrease and we proceed with the aging in barrels 25 quintal oak barrels for a duration of 22 months and a final refinement in the bottle for 6 months.
Characteristics of this Tuscan wine
Organoleptic examination shows a garnet red color and an olfactory bouquet that revolves around red berried fruits, spices and tobacco. On the palate, however, it expresses the typical complexity of Brunello.
Recommended pairings with this Tuscan red wine
Particularly suitable in combination with all meat and game dishes but also aged cheeses. Serve at a temperature of 18-20°C in the characteristic ballon glass, ideal for tasting robust red wines.
