An unusual wine for the tradition of Piedmont that Gaja was able to explain perfectly. 95% Chardonnay and 5% Sauvignon Blanc, cultivated on vineyards between Barbaresco and Serralunga. The wine making considers the fermentation in steel, followed by 6 months aging in wood. The alcoholic fermentation is managed in steel containers at controlled temperature, while the malolactic one is set in barriques, where the wine rests for seven months. “Langhe Bianco DOC Rossj Bass”, produced by Gaja has a deep intensity in its scent and in its taste. It is rich and powerful but it is able to express dynamism and freshness. It comes from lands that don’t need any presentation, because their oenological traditions talk themselves. Moreover, if we consider the name of the winery that produces this wine, we are sure of the high-quality level offered.
Features of “Rossj Bass” by Gaja
Shiny straw yellow colour with intense gold shades. Its perfume is rich of flowers and fruits, enriched by honey and citrus fruits. The taste is structured, elegant, strong, fresh, surrounded by a good sourness and a long persistence.
Recommended food pairings while tasting this wine by Gaja winery
Perfect with fish, crustaceans, mouldy cheese; Pleasant with “risotto” with smoked trout too. It has to be served at 8°C in a high, wide wine glass, in order to allow the right oxygenation.
