Wine description
Named after the owner and oenologist of the Varvaglione Winery, this Apulian red wine is one of the winery's core products. The grapes used are 100% Negroamaro: after the harvest, they are pressed and macerated at a controlled temperature of 24-26 C°. This is followed by malolactic fermentation and finally ageing in French casks and American tonneaux for a minimum of 6 months.
Characteristics of this Apulian wine
It has a very intense red colour with violet hues. The olfactory bouquet is reminiscent of red fruit, tobacco, liquorice and cinnamon, while on the palate it impresses with a decidedly balsamic persistence.
Recommended pairings with this Apulian red wine
Excellent with main courses of red meat, sauces and mature cheeses. Serve at a temperature of 16-18 C°.
