The Moscato IGT “Theo” from Vanzini is a sweet sparkling white wine produced in the hills of Oltrepò Pavese, in the municipalities of San Damiano al Colle, Santa Maria della Versa and Volpara. It is obtained from 100% Moscato grapes grown on soils derived from sandstone and calcareous marl with a clay component, located between 300 and 350 metres above sea level. Winemaking involves a short maceration on the skins, followed by a soft pressing and fermentation in an autoclave according to the Martinotti Method at a controlled temperature for approximately 15-20 days. After filtration, the wine ages in the bottle for about three months.
Characteristics of this Moscato from Vanzini Winery
From an organoleptic point of view it has a straw yellow colour with greenish reflections. On the nose it is fresh and aromatic, with floral notes, honey notes and intense aromas of apple, pear, peach, plum and citrus. On the palate it is sweet, elegant and well-structured, with a pleasant retro-olfactory persistence that enhances its fruity and aromatic component.
Recommended pairings with this white wine
This Moscato pairs particularly well with desserts, especially cream cakes, fresh pastries, and traditional Italian leavened desserts like Easter dove and panettone. Thanks to its aromatic freshness, it is also ideal as an end-of-meal wine or as an accompaniment to convivial moments. Serve at 8°C.
