The company was born in 1923 in a typical structure of the XVI Century. 90 years ago, some vine growers built the actual company. Behind these walls and in the corridors of the cellar, you can find the secrets of a modern technology and the ideal condition for the aging.Today, more than 200 families work hard in the best production zones, like Oltradige and Bassa Atesina. Talking about “terroir”, the attention falls on the territories, but the word doesn’t resume only the features of the lands. Indeed, “terroir” is the combination of different factors that include climate, territory, composition of the soils and geography.These wines reflect the characteristics of their lands, expressing their origins in the glass. In Cornaiano, not far from Bolzano, we find sunny slopes that reach 550 meters above the sea level.These lands are the perfect habitat for Girlan plants. The Alps protect these lands rich of minerals and sand and create the perfect conditions for the cultivation of the vineyards. From Val d’Adige, the territory benefits from the Mediterranean climate. Strong excursions between day and night, especially in autumn give to Girlan wines a particular aroma that expresses elegance.
