The 24 Carati Rosso from Cantina Tenuta Antonini is an Abruzzese wine of great structure and elegance, produced in the hills of Ancarano, in the province of Teramo. It originates from a blend of Montepulciano and Merlot from old vineyards raised in guyot, located approximately 300 meters above sea level on clayey and calcareous soils, particularly suited to the production of intense and long-lived reds. The production philosophy of the company focuses on the selection of the best grapes, harvested exclusively by hand at the moment of perfect ripeness, with the aim of obtaining a wine that expresses concentration, balance and finesse. After a soft destemming, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel with frequent reassembling and destaging, while aging continues for about twelve months in French and Austrian fine wood tonneaus, followed by a further period of rest in the bottle.
Characteristics of this Abruzzese wine
From an organoleptic point of view it has an intense and deep ruby red colour. On the nose, it offers a large and complex bouquet, characterized by hints of ripe plum, cherry and red fruits in spirit, accompanied by elegant notes of vanilla, tobacco and sweet spices resulting from the refinement in wood. In the mouth it is full, soft and enveloping, with well-integrated noble tannins and a long final persistence that gives balance between power and refinement.

The 24 Carati Rosso finds its ideal pairing with structured and tasty dishes. It pairs perfectly with roasts, braised meats, game, and grilled red meats, but also enhances rich first courses like pappardelle with wild boar ragù or baked pastas. Also excellent with aged cheeses and important cured meats. To best appreciate its scents and complexity, it is advisable to serve it at a temperature between 18 and 20 °C.
