The name of this exceptional, elegant and refined red wine of the Ceretto winery from Piedmont is the DOC of Langhe Rosso. The Denomination of Controlled Origin is the respect of the production disciplinary that applies to the territories of the municipality of Alba, the place of production of this wine. The vinification involves the use of a blend of Cabernet sauvignon grapes for 50%, 25% merlot, 25% Syrah. Sought-after and refined as only Ceretto can produce. The Monsordo Bernardina Estate in the 1990s was the scene of significant ampelographic revolutions. Alongside the traditional difficulties planted a series of native crops. The idea was to observe the potentials and the limits on a territory, the most famous, able to strongly mark the expressiveness and yield in the glass. After some years of vinification in purity, in 1997, I embarked on the project of making a single wine, assembling my best conditions on the territory. From that moment the Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah, processed separately, are aged in wood and then united in a different percentage in the characteristic bottle that bears the name of the estate. Monsone is a wine with a modern character, but at the same time it gives a nod to tradition and the local identity of the territory. Able to tell the characteristics of the variety that is generous and pure strongly marked by the Langa terroir. A wine with international methods but with a distinctly Piedmontese accent. The vinification in consideration of the different maturation times of the 4 varieties takes place in 4 different optimal moments for each variety. For all, then the malolactic fermentation takes place in 300-liter wooden tonneaux. A long aging of 12 maximum 14 months in wood follows for each wine.
