Brunello di Montalcino DOCG is a great Italian red wine, produced by the historic Montalcino La Torre winery. It’s made from 100% Sangiovese grapes. Bunches are harvested, selected and fermented in stainless steel vassels at a controlled temperature for 20-25 days. Brunello di Montalcino maturation takes place in small oak barrels for 48 months, than the wine is bottled. After bottling, refinement process goes on for 10-12 months in cellar. This wine is released on the market only 5 years after vintage and it can age for more than 30 years, if it’s properly conserved.
Characteristics of Brunello di Montalcino wine
It presents a ruby, almost garnet red colour. On the nose it releases a very elegant, captivating and intense bouquet. Robust and persistent wine, with a dry and warm taste.
Recommended pairings while tasting this red wine
It should be served in a wide crystal glass at a temperature of 18-20°C. We suggest to uncork the bottle 3 hours before serving, in order to enhance its qualities. It can be paired with main courses, game meat, grilled or stewed red meat and aged chees.
