The white wines from Alto Adige

Among the Italian regions with a wine culture, the Trentino Alto Adige is very important especially for the cultivation of the white grapes which are characterized by an acid and fruity taste due to the cultivation area and the exposition of the vineyards.

The production area is divided in two zones, both of them with vineyards that resist the low temperatures such as the Pinot Grigio from Trentino a white wine characterized by aromatic and fresh aromas perfect to be matched with different courses.

Historically the wine production started in 700 b.C. when was produced the retico. The production started with the Etruscans but with the Romans it improved a lot by improving the quality and it born the modern wine from Trentino that today is really appreciated.

Among the wines from Trentino-Alto Adige the white wines are the most appreciated and renowned. Thanks to the local farmer during the years the quality has improved by the modern production techniques.

Among the most renowned there is the Gewurztraminer Alto Adige, produced on a clay and calcareous soil which gives fresh and unique aromas of rose, lily and exotic fruits like mango and papaya perfect to be matched with interesting pairings.

There is also the Muller Thurgau typical of this area but it has German origins with its particularly tasty and aromatic taste with a delicate aroma with a good structure and a good balance.
