This red wine from the Campania Petilia winery comes from pure Aglianico grapes cultivated in the Taurasi and Paternopoli soils near Avellino: here, vines about 20 years old grow on clayey soils with a good presence of limestone, at about 450 m above sea level. The grapes harvested between late October and early November undergo the classic red vinification process with a long maceration phase in contact with the skins. Ageing takes place in barriques and tonneaux for about 18/24 months.
Characteristics of this wine from Campania
The organoleptic examination shows a very intense ruby red colour and intense aromas of fruit such as black cherry and red fruits, as well as vanilla and spices. On the palate it is enveloping and the spicy, fruity but also cocoa and coffee notes return.
Suggested food pairings with this red wine from Campania
Excellent with long cooked meat dishes, but also with mature cheeses.
