In the region of Sardinia are produced numerous red wines, white wines and rosé wines that have a great wine tradition.

The vineyards that give life to the Sardinian wines are located both in the inner zones of Sardinia and in areas close to the sea; the inner zone is characterized by a hilly territory while the coastal area consists mostly of a flat area. In total, there are about 30,000 hectares.

In recent years, the best Sardinian wines have greatly increased their quality, enough to be appreciated outside of Italy; this mainly due to the numerous and important investments that wineries have done. We can say that the production of wines in Sardinia is the lifeblood of the agricultural economy of the region.

The Sardinian vines are of various types ,among the main ones we remember Bovale, Cannonau, Monica, Carignano, Nuragus, Vermentino, Vernaccia and Moscato.

Today we can count one DOCG which is the Vermentino di Gallura; seventeen DOC including Cannonau, Carignano del Sulcis, Alghero, Cagliari Nuragus, Vermentino di Sardegna and Vernaccia di Oristano and sexteen IGT.
