Wine list | Primitivo di Manduria |
Produced with 100% Primitivo di Manduria grapes grown in the company's vineyards near Manduria, this wine from the Apulian winery Masseria Surani owes its name to the Greek divinity of wine. The vineyards are grown organically and the soils are of calcareous, rich in iron. Following the manual harvest, fermentation takes place for 15/18 days at a temperature of 25/28°C. The refinement instead requires a stay of 15/18 months in oak barrels and barriques with subsequent 6 months of rest in the bottle.
Characteristics of this Apulian wine
Upon organoleptic examination this wine shows an intense ruby red color; the olfactory notes recall black fruits but also spicy notes of pepper and sweet notes of chocolate and cinnamon. On the palate it is full-bodied with velvety tannins. Excellent persistence.
