The Red wine DOC Ros di Buri Merlot is produced in the prestigious Meroi winery founded in 1920. The production of this wine dates back the 1995 and it is produced in the east hills of Friuli in the Buttrio hamlet in the Udine province. This wine is made with 100% Merlot grapes and the cultivation soils are marl and located at 100-120 meters above the sea level. The exposition is south, south-east. The cultivation method is the French Guyot and the picking takes place the first week of October and it ends at the third week. There is a maturation process in stainless steel tanks and then the wine is put in barrels for the fermentation for 15-20 days. There is the addition of selected yeasts for the malolactic fermentation. The refinement lasts 22 months in barrels and the further 4 months in bottle and there is no filtering.

The Ros di Buri DOC has a ruby red color with a remarkable brightness. It has red fruits, marasca cherry aromas with white pepper and gloves hints. The taste has important tannins with the fruit aroma that caresses the palate.
