MOSNEL
The Mosnel winery is located in the heart of Franciacorta, in Camignone, where the Barboglio family settled in 1836, inheriting the centuries-old residence with the sixteenth-century cellars. Mosnel today certainly represents one of the most important realities of Franciacorta. The winery, run with enthusiasm and modern flair by Lucia and Giulio Barzanò, is spread over almost totally marly soils, which is not common in Franciacorta, capable of giving the wines great elegance, balance and immediate pleasure. All the vineyards were replanted in the 1990s, bringing the number of vines per hectare to 4,500 and modifying the spurred cordon training system. At the moment, three plots owned by the winery are managed organically: a small step towards a gradual process that will lead the winery to conduct all its vineyards using natural practices. For the rest, the practices adopted in the cellar are few and simple, but essential to produce wines that release personality and aromas: barriques used for the fermentation and aging of at least 10% of each wine, Pinot Bianco and Nero on all non vintage and low sugar dosage. There are few secret Mosnel ingredients, all supported by the passion that for years has moved the cellar towards the production of wines of absolute quality.
